My professional journey has included serving as a special education teacher, elementary &
high school counselor, counselor educator, college advisor, consultant, and private practice
counselor. I received three degrees along the way with the highest being a Specialist in
Counseling and Assessment from Missouri State University. I've had the privilege of
working with people from many different walks of life, each with their own story, strengths,
and challenges.
My counseling style is warm, practical, and relationship-centered. I strive to create a
comfortable space where clients can talk openly without fear of judgment. Together, we'll
work to better understand what's happening, identify strengths, develop healthy coping
strategies, and move toward the goals that matter most to you.
I frequently work with adults who are facing anxiety, stress, burnout, life transitions, and the
challenges that come with caring for others while trying to care for themselves. Having
spent many years in education, I also understand the unique pressures faced by teachers,
school staff, helping professionals, and caregivers.
As someone who has experienced my own unexpected life challenges, I understand that
healing and growth are rarely a straight path. Some seasons require courage. Some require
patience. Most require support.
When I'm not in the office, you'll often find me spending time with family which includes my
husband, two sons, one daughter-in-love and our two dogs. I live on a farm and enjoy being
outside, walking, going to concerts and appreciating the simple things that help bring
balance to life.
My goal is not to tell you how to live your life. My goal is to listen with the intent to
understand, provide a safe, supportive place where you can explore your options, build on
your strengths, and find a path forward that fits you.
Thank you for stopping by. If you think we might be a good fit, I'd be honored to walk
alongside you as you begin charting your new course.
